0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO COMPLETE OBLIGATIONS PURSUANT TO THE

0012|     TEXAS-NEW MEXICO SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local
    |
0017|     government division of the department of finance and
    |
0018|     administration for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for a water
    |
0019|     quality measurement program for lower Rio Grande water users in
    |
0020|     Dona Ana county to complete obligations pursuant to the Texas-
    |
0021|     New Mexico settlement agreement.  Any unexpended or
    |
0022|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0023|     shall not revert to the general fund.
