0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1998 for the purpose of contracting for the provision of
    |
0020|     computer hardware, computer software, technology-related
    |
0021|     expertise and related infrastructure that will expand rural
    |
0022|     community access to telecommunications technology.  Any
    |
0023|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0024|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
