0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of
    |
0018|     regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal year 1998 for the purpose of studying the effects of
    |
0020|     light pollution on astronomical studies and developing
    |
0021|     recommendations to improve the state's potential for economic
    |
0022|     development related to astronomy.  Any unexpended or
    |
0023|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0024|     shall revert to the general fund.
