0011| RELATING TO THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY COUNCIL; CHANGING
|
0012| MEMBERSHIP ON THE PUBLIC SCHOOL CAPITAL OUTLAY COUNCIL.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
|
0015| Section 1. Section 22-24-6 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1975,
|
0016| Chapter 235, Section 6, as amended) is amended to read:
|
0017| "22-24-6. COUNCIL CREATED--ORGANIZATION--DUTIES.--
|
0018| A. There is created the "public school capital
|
0019| outlay council", consisting of [the]:
|
0020| (1) the secretary of finance and
|
0021| administration or his designee;
|
0022| (2) the state superintendent or his designee;
|
0023| (3) the governor or his designee;
|
0024| (4) the president of the New Mexico school
|
0025| boards association or his designee;
|
0001| (5) the director of the construction
|
0002| industries division of the regulation and licensing department
|
0003| or his designee;
|
0004| (6) the president of the state board or his
|
0005| designee;
|
0006| (7) the director of the legislative education
|
0007| study committee or his designee;
|
0008| [(8) the director of the legislative finance
|
committee or his designee; and
|
(9) the director of the legislative council
|
service or his designee]
|
0012| (8) a person with experience in public
|
0013| finance to be appointed by the New Mexico legislative council;
|
0014| and
|
0015| (9) a person with experience in a
|
0016| construction trade or construction management to be appointed
|
0017| by the New Mexico legislative council.
|
0018| B. The council shall investigate all applications
|
0019| for assistance from the fund and shall certify the approved
|
0020| applications to the secretary of finance and administration for
|
0021| distribution of funds.
|
0022| C. The council shall elect a chairman from among
|
0023| the members. The council shall meet at the call of the
|
0024| chairman.
|
0025| D. The department of education shall account for
|
0001| all distributions and shall make annual reports to the
|
0002| legislative education study committee and to the legislative
|
0003| finance committee."
