0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO REIMBURSE SANTA FE FAMILIES FOR

0012|     DIVERSION OF WATER FOR USE IN THE CITY OF SANTA FE LOCATED IN
    |
0013|     SANTA FE COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two million five hundred
    |
0017|     thousand dollars ($2,500,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0018|     fund to the office of the state engineer for expenditure in
    |
0019|     fiscal years 1997 and 1998 for the purpose of reimbursing Santa
    |
0020|     Fe families who have been deprived of the use of water that was
    |
0021|     diverted for use by the city of Santa Fe located in Santa Fe
    |
0022|     county.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0023|     the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0024|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
