TEMPORARY PROVISION--PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL | 0017| MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR--LICENSURE WITHOUT EXAMINATION.--An | 0018| applicant for licensure as a professional clinical mental | 0019| health counselor shall be licensed without examination if the | 0020| applicant: | 0021| A. applied for licensure within one year of the | 0022| 1993 effective date of the Counseling and Therapy Practice Act; | 0023| B. has been engaged in full-time practice of | 0024| professional clinical mental health counseling for at least | 0025| fifteen consecutive years prior to the effective date of | 0001| licensure; | 0002| C. obtained, prior to commencing practice as a | 0003| professional clinical mental health counselor, a master's or | 0004| doctoral degree in counseling, psychology or a closely related | 0005| field, including special education of the emotionally | 0006| disturbed, art therapy or expressive arts therapy, from an | 0007| accredited institution; | 0008| D. has been certified to the board as competent by | 0009| at least three persons who have practiced as professional | 0010| mental health counselors or state-licensed psychologists or | 0011| psychiatrists with the applicant anytime during that fifteen- | 0012| year period; and | 0013| E. submits a letter requesting licensure without | 0014| examination to the board within ninety days of the effective | 0015| date of this 1997 act. | 0016| Section 2. DELAYED REPEAL.--The provisions of this 1997 | 0017| act are repealed effective September 30, 1997. | 0018|  |
