0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SALARY INCREASES FOR STATE POLICE

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred eighty-seven
    |
0016|     thousand six hundred fifty-nine dollars ($987,659) is
    |
0017|     appropriated from the general fund to the department of public
    |
0018|     safety for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the purpose of
    |
0019|     providing ten percent midpoint salary increases to state police
    |
0020|     officers.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0021|     the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
