  Mr. President:
  
      Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
  
                           SENATE BILL 24
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation
  that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
      1.  On page 1, line 11, after "APPROPRIATION" insert "TO THE
  HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT".
  
      2.  On page 1, line 11, strike "CERTAIN".
  
      3.  On page 1, line 12, before the period insert "IN SOUTHERN
  NEW MEXICO".
  
      4.  On page 1, lines 18 through 20, strike "for the purpose of
  supporting homeless programs in any class A county with a population
  of fewer than four hundred thousand persons" and insert in lieu
  thereof "to provide homeless services, including shelter, for
  homeless people in southern New Mexico counties seriously impacted
  by high immigration".,
  
  and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
