NURSING FACILITIES--NURSE STAFF LEVELS.-- | 0017| A. Nursing facilities licensed pursuant to the | 0018| provisions of Section 24-1-5 NMSA 1978 shall employ nursing | 0019| department staff sufficient to meet the care needs of the | 0020| residents. | 0021| B. By December 31, 1997, the department of health | 0022| shall adopt regulations to establish requirements for minimum | 0023| nursing department staff in nursing facilities and for publicly | 0024| posting the number of nursing department staff on duty. Prior | 0025| to proposing those regulations, the department of health shall | 0001| cooperate with and receive comments from the human services | 0002| department, the state agency on aging, consumers, providers and | 0003| advocates regarding the fiscal and service criteria applicable | 0004| to the regulations. The effective date of the regulations | 0005| shall be July 1, 1998. | 0006|  |
