0011| RELATING TO PER DIEM AND MILEAGE OF LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS;

0012| AMENDING SECTION 2-1-8 NMSA 1978 (BEING LAWS 1955, CHAPTER 2,

0013| SECTION 1, AS AMENDED) TO COMPLY WITH ARTICLE 4, SECTION 10 OF

0014| THE CONSTITUTION OF NEW MEXICO.

0016| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0017| Section 1. Section 2-1-8 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1955,
|
0018| Chapter 2, Section 1, as amended) is amended to read:
|
0019| "2-1-8. SESSION PER DIEM AND MILEAGE OF MEMBERS.--Each
|
0020| member of the legislature shall receive: [as per diem expense
|
the sum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) for each day's
|
attendance during each session and twenty-five cents ($.25) per
|
mile for each mile traveled in going to and returning from the
|
seat of government by the usual traveled route once each
|
session]

0001| A. per diem at the internal revenue service per
|
0002| diem rate in effect on January 1 of each year for the city of
|
0003| Santa Fe for each day's attendance during each session of the
|
0004| legislature and the internal revenue service standard mileage
|
0005| rate in effect on January 1 of each year for each mile traveled
|
0006| in going to and returning from the seat of government by the
|
0007| usual traveled route, once each session as defined by Article
|
0008| 4, Section 5 of the constitution of New Mexico; and
|
0009| B. per diem expense and mileage at the same rates
|
0010| as provided in Subsection A of this section for service at
|
0011| meetings required by legislative committees established by the
|
0012| legislature to meet in the interim between sessions."
