0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR CONTINUATION OF A DIABETES PROGRAM

0012|     IN NORTHERN NEW MEXICO; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty-five
    |
0016|     thousand dollars ($225,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0017|     fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0018|     1998 for the purpose of contracting for the continuation of a
    |
0019|     seven-county diabetes self-management program based in Mora
    |
0020|     county for low-income uninsured and underinsured persons.  Any
    |
0021|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0022|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0023|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0024|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
