0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR INTERNET ACCESS BY PUBLIC

0012|     LIBRARIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the library
    |
0017|     division of the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal years 1997 and 1998 for the purpose of expanding access
    |
0019|     to the internet for public libraries statewide.  Any unexpended
    |
0020|     or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year
    |
0021|     1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0022|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0023|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
