0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO

0012|     STATE UNIVERSITY TO ERADICATE THE COTTON BOLL WEEVIL.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure
    |
0018|     in fiscal year 1998 to contract for services for field surveys
    |
0019|     and trapping necessary to eradicate the cotton boll weevil
    |
0020|     throughout the state's cotton production area.  Any unexpended
    |
0021|     or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year
    |
0022|     1998 shall revert to the general fund.
