0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF CULTURAL AFFAIRS FOR

0012| THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING HISPANIC MUSIC THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred seventy-five
|
0016| thousand dollars ($175,000) is appropriated from the general
|
0017| fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in
|
0018| fiscal year 1998 so that the office of cultural affairs may
|
0019| contract for services to promote Hispanic music throughout the
|
0020| state. The promotion of Hispanic music shall include
|
0021| conducting of Hispanic music workshops, shows and concerts,
|
0022| awarding of scholarships to study Hispanic music and providing
|
0023| recognition of achievement for persons who produce and perform
|
0024| Hispanic music. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
|
0025| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
|
0001| general fund.
