0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM IN TAOS

0012|     COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0017|     local government division of the department of finance and
    |
0018|     administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and 1998
    |
0019|     for the purpose of establishing an erosion control and re-
    |
0020|     seeding program in areas damaged by fire in Taos county.  Any
    |
0021|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0022|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0023|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0024|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
