0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF THE BILINGUAL PROGRAM AT

0012|     WASHINGTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN LAS CRUCES; DECLARING AN

0013|     EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Twelve thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($12,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0018|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years
    |
0019|     1997 and 1998 for the purpose of purchasing educational
    |
0020|     materials for the bilingual multicultural education program at
    |
0021|     Washington elementary school in Las Cruces in Dona Ana county. 
    |
0022|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0023|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0024|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
