0013|     RETIREES; AMENDING A SECTION OF THE NMSA 1978.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|          Section 1.  Section 66-3-413 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1980,
    |
0018|     Chapter 45, Section 1, as amended) is amended to read:
    |
0019|          "66-3-413.  SPECIAL REGISTRATION PLATES.--
    |
0020|               A.  The division shall issue distinctive
    |
0021|     registration plates to any person who is <s>[a]</s> <u>an active or
</u>    |
<u></u>0022| <u>    retired</u> member of the New Mexico national guard, upon the
    |
0023|     submission by the person of proof satisfactory to the division
    |
0024|     that he is <s>[currently a]</s> <u>an active or retired</u> member of the
    |
0025|     guard.  No fee shall be collected for issuance of a special
    |
0001|     registration plate pursuant to this section.
    |
0002|               B.  No person shall falsely represent himself to be
    |
0003|     an active <u>or retired</u> member of the New Mexico national guard
    |
0004|     so as to be eligible to be issued special registration plates
    |
0005|     pursuant to this section when he in fact is not <s>[a current]</s>
    |
0006|     <u>an active or retired</u> member of the New Mexico national guard.
    |
0007|               C.  Any person who violates the provisions of
    |
0008|     Subsection B of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor."
