0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO

0012|     INCREASE THE MANPOWER LEVEL OF THE NEW MEXICO STATE POLICE.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One million four hundred fifty
    |
0016|     thousand dollars ($1,450,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0017|     fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1998 for the purpose of employing and training an
    |
0019|     additional twenty-five New Mexico state police officers.  Any
    |
0020|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0021|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
