0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC

0012|     EDUCATION FOR PROGRAMS IN MEDIA LITERACY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0017|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0018|     1998 for the purpose of providing awareness, education, program
    |
0019|     instruction, workshops, technology training and development and
    |
0020|     school district seminars on media literacy by a media literacy
    |
0021|     organization that has an established project with extensive
    |
0022|     multimedia databases throughout the state.  Any unexpended or
    |
0023|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0024|     shall revert to the general fund.
