0011|     RELATING TO HEALTH; INCLUDING LICENSED MIDWIVES AS ELIGIBLE

0012|     PROVIDERS IN A MEDICAID MANAGED CARE PROGRAM.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  LICENSED MIDWIVES--MEDICAID MANAGED CARE.--Any
    |
0016|     managed health care plan offered through the medicaid program
    |
0017|     shall offer, in addition to a basic array of health care
    |
0018|     services available from various professional providers licensed
    |
0019|     in New Mexico, maternity services provided by licensed
    |
0020|     midwives.  Maternity services provided by a midwife licensed by
    |
0021|     the department of health to be available through a medicaid
    |
0022|     managed health care plan include prenatal and postnatal care,
    |
0023|     visits and child delivery, including those births occurring
    |
0024|     outside licensed health care facilities.
