0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A HIGH-SPEED INFORMATION NETWORK

0012|     FOR  HIGHER EDUCATION.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred eighty-five
    |
0016|     thousand dollars ($585,000) is appropriated from the general
    |
0017|     fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for
    |
0018|     expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the purpose of funding a
    |
0019|     high-speed information network for higher education.  Any
    |
0020|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0021|     fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general fund.
