0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE AUDITORY ORAL EDUCATION AND

0013|     FOLLOW-UP TREATMENT TO COCHLEAR-IMPLANTED DEAF STUDENTS.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars
    |
0017|     ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human
    |
0018|     services department for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the
    |
0019|     purpose of contracting with private agencies to provide
    |
0020|     auditory oral education and follow-up treatment to deaf
    |
0021|     students who have been treated surgically with multi-channel
    |
0022|     cochlear implants.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0023|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0024|     general fund.
