TRUJILLO | 0005| | 0006| | 0007| | 0008| | 0009| | 0010| A MEMORIAL | 0011| PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 17, 1997 AS HUMAN NEEDS AWARENESS DAY. | 0012| | 0013| WHEREAS, it is evident to all of us every day of the year | 0014| that children, senior citizens, people with disabilities, those | 0015| on welfare, victims of domestic violence, teenagers attempting | 0016| to forge their individuality, Native Americans standing | 0017| sovereign ground, veterans and countless others have unmet | 0018| human needs; and | 0019| WHEREAS, although we attempt to address a fraction of | 0020| those needs in the course of our days in the legislature, many | 0021| needs necessarily go unmet; and | 0022| WHEREAS, much of the daily struggle consists of widening | 0023| and deepening our understanding of the natural diversity that | 0024| exists among people and coming to an acceptance of the | 0025| diversity of their needs; | 0001| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF | 0002| REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 17, | 0003| 1997 be proclaimed human needs awareness day; and | 0004| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all of us take a moment to | 0005| applaud our own and others' humanity and do our best to | 0006| recognize each other as equals with needs of equal importance. | 0007|  | 0008| | 0009| |
