0011| REQUESTING THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE IMPROVE ITS ENFORCEMENT OF

0012| LAWS AGAINST PROSTITUTION.

0014| WHEREAS, public prostitution has grown in the Albuquerque
|
0015| neighborhoods bordered by Central, Lomas, Washington and
|
0016| Louisiana; and
|
0017| WHEREAS, the morals of the children who live in the area
|
0018| are threatened by a lack of civic response to the situation;
|
0019| and
|
0020| WHEREAS, prostitution threatens the health, the social
|
0021| fabric and the safety of residents of the neighborhoods; and
|
0022| WHEREAS, civic leaders have a responsibility to
|
0023| aggressively respond to blights on neighborhoods that destroy
|
0024| the community's liveability;
|
0025| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF
|
0001| REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the mayor and
|
0002| the city council of Albuquerque be requested to re-invigorate
|
0003| their efforts to enforce anti-prostitution laws and improve the
|
0004| quality of living in the Central, Lomas, Washington and
|
0005| Louisiana neighborhoods; and
|
0006| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
|
0007| transmitted to the mayor and members of the city council of
|
0008| Albuquerque.
