0001| SENATE JOINT MEMORIAL 73 | 0002| 43rd legislature - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - first session, 1997 | 0003| INTRODUCED BY | 0004| JOHN PINTO | 0005| | 0006| | 0007| | 0008| | 0009| | 0010| A JOINT MEMORIAL | 0011| REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO | 0012| INSTALL AND MAINTAIN STREET LIGHTS AT THE INTERSECTION OF | 0013| NAVAJO ROAD 36 AND NEW MEXICO HIGHWAY 371 IN SAN JUAN COUNTY. | 0014| | 0015| WHEREAS, there have been many traffic accidents at the | 0016| intersection of Navajo road 36 and New Mexico highway 371; and | 0017| WHEREAS, too many of those accidents have resulted in | 0018| death; and | 0019| WHEREAS, it is the responsibility of the state highway and | 0020| transportation department to make New Mexico highways as safe | 0021| as possible; | 0022| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE | 0023| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the state highway and transportation | 0024| department be requested to install and maintain street lights | 0025| at the intersection of Navajo road 36 and New Mexico highway | 0001| 371 in San Juan county; and | 0002| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be | 0003| transmitted to the secretary of highway and transportation. | 0004|  |
