0001| HOUSE JOINT MEMORIAL 36 | 0002| 43RD LEGISLATURE - STATE OF NEW MEXICO - SECOND SESSION, 1998 | 0003| INTRODUCED BY | 0004| JEANNETTE WALLACE | 0005| | 0006| | 0007| | 0008| | 0009| | 0010| A JOINT MEMORIAL | 0011| REQUESTING THE STATE HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT TO | 0012| SEEK ADDITIONAL FEDERAL FOREST HIGHWAY FUNDS TO PAVE STATE | 0013| HIGHWAY 126/NEW MEXICO FOREST HIGHWAY 12 FROM LA CUEVA TO | 0014| CUBA. | 0015| | 0016| WHEREAS, the federal government has a forest highway | 0017| program to pave United States forest roads; and | 0018| WHEREAS, state highway 126 in the Santa Fe national | 0019| forest is also designated as forest road 12; and | 0020| WHEREAS, the forest highway program should fund the | 0021| paving of state highway 126/forest road 12; and | 0022| WHEREAS, the road is slated for improvement, but the | 0023| forest highway program allocation to New Mexico is only three | 0024| million dollars ($3,000,000) to four million dollars | 0025| ($4,000,000) a year for all forest roads in the state; | - 1 - 0001| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE | 0002| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the state highway and transportation | 0003| department be requested to seek additional funding from the | 0004| forest highway program or other federal sources to complete | 0005| the paving of state highway 126/forest road 12 from La Cueva | 0006| to Cuba in a timely manner; and | 0007| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be | 0008| transmitted to the state highway and transportation | 0009| department. | 0010|  |
