0012| REQUESTING THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

0013| TO STUDY MASSAGE THERAPY AS IT RELATES TO THE HEALTH CARE

0014| SYSTEM OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO.

0016| WHEREAS, massage therapy is an integral part of
|
0017| alternative medicine and is represented by approximately three
|
0018| thousand licensed massage therapists;
|
0019| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
|
0020| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the legislative health and human
|
0021| services committee be requested to study massage therapy, the
|
0022| level of training of massage therapists, methods of payment,
|
0023| physicians' referrals, interactions with other primary care
|
0024| providers, health clinics and hospitals and other related
|
0025| federal and state laws relating to medicaid and medicare, and
|
- 1 -0001| report back to the first session of forty-fourth legislature;
|

|
0003| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
|
0004| transmitted to members of the legislative health and human
|
0005| services committee.
