0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE JURY AND WITNESS FUND;
    |
0012|     DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0016|               A.  Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is
    |
0017|     appropriated from the general fund to the jury and witness fee
    |
0018|     fund for expenditure in fiscal year 1998 and subsequent fiscal
    |
0019|     years to carry out the purposes of the fund.
    |
0020|               B.  Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is
    |
0021|     appropriated from the general fund to the jury and witness fee
    |
0022|     fund for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 and subsequent fiscal
    |
0023|     years to carry out the purposes of the fund.
    |
0024|               C.  Six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) is
    |
0025|     appropriated from the general fund to the department of
    |

0001|     finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 1999
    |
0002|     and subsequent fiscal years as a contingency fund to pay
    |
0003|     unanticipated costs of the jury and witness fee fund when the
    |
0004|     director of the administrative office of the courts certifies
    |
0005|     to the secretary of finance and administration that there is
    |
0006|     not enough money in the jury and witness fee fund to pay
    |
0007|     current and projected commitments.
    |
0008|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0009|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0010|     immediately.
