Honorable Speaker and Members of the House:

I have this day VETOED and am returning HOUSE BILL 442,

enacted by the Forty-Fourth Legislature, First Session, 1999.

This legislation would extend state liquor licenses to include state museums. I have vetoed this bill because provisions currently exist which allow for the serving of alcohol at certain museum events. I do not want the Office of Cultural Affairs to be in the business of selling liquor.
