Honorable President and Members of the Senate:

I have this day VETOED and am returning SENATE BILL 626, as amended, enacted by the Forty-Fourth Legislature, First Session, 1999.

Senate Bill 626 amends 74-2-7 NMSA 1978 to establish deadlines for permit application appeals to the Environment Improvement Board or the Local Board and provides for the accelerated review of applications.

I have already signed House Bill 203, which was passed by the Forty-Fourth Legislature which accomplishes the purpose of this bill. Therefore, I am vetoing SENATE BILL 626 in order to avoid potential conflict.
