AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP A PROGRAM TO FACILITATE THE TRADITIONAL HARVEST OF CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT GAME ANIMALS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four thousand dollars ($4,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the game protection fund for expenditure in fiscal years 2000 through 2003 for the purpose of developing a program to allow an Indian nation, tribe or pueblo to harvest from its traditional hunting grounds game animals that are being managed by the department of game and fish and that are of cultural significance to that Indian nation, tribe or pueblo. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
