AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE SUPPORT OF SERVICES FOR CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Eighty-three thousand dollars ($83,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of providing special services, including food, clothing, medicines, hygiene supplies and health care to children temporarily residing in domestic violence shelters. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
