AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION FOR EXTENDED LEARNING PROGRAMS AND SERVICES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. The following appropriations are made in the following amounts from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the following purposes:

(1) seven hundred sixty-four thousand three hundred dollars ($764,300) to be divided accordingly among New Mexico's public post-secondary educational institutions providing extended learning programs, equalizing the tuition credit base and funding off-campus courses at the same level as on-campus courses; and

(2) one million five hundred seven thousand five hundred dollars ($1,507,500) to be divided among the originating, transmitting and receiving institutions according to their costs for extended learning services statewide.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
