AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE REGIONAL EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM OF THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Three hundred forty-five thousand three hundred thirty-six dollars ($345,336) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university college of education for the regional educational technology assistance program for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the following purposes in the following amounts:

(1) eighty-eight thousand two hundred dollars ($88,200) to develop and disseminate curriculum models and internet materials for teacher education in classroom use of computer technology; and

(2) two hundred fifty-seven thousand one hundred thirty-six dollars ($257,136) to develop regional resource centers to sustain teacher professional development in effective integration of technology in the classroom.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
