AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTRACTING FOR THE PROVISION OF COMMUNITY ORIENTED POLICING AND TRAINING PROGRAMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of public safety for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of contracting for the provision of community oriented policing and training programs. The appropriated money shall be used in part to purchase a mobile resource center and pay salaries and benefits for personnel to staff the mobile resource center. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
