MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO WESTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY FOR NURSING-OTA PROGRAMS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred eighteen thousand seven hundred dollars ($318,700) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of western New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000 for the purpose of funding nursing-OTA programs at western New Mexico university. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
