AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PURCHASE ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY DEVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES WHO ARE MAKING THE TRANSITION FROM PUBLIC SCHOOL TO EMPLOYMENT OR INDEPENDENT LIVING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the vocational education division of the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to purchase assistive technology devices that will be loaned to students with disabilities who are making the transition from public school to employment or independent living. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
