AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS CONNECTIONS AND SERVICES AT NEW MEXICO JUNIOR COLLEGE AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO STATE SCHOOL.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the following institutions and agency, in the following amounts for the following purposes for expenditure in fiscal year 2000:

(1) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to the governing board of New Mexico junior college to provide for connecting the school to a telecommunications network for educational and public services and employing a full-time coordinator for those services;

(2) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to the board of regents of Northern New Mexico state school to provide for connecting the school to a telecommunications network for educational and public services and employing a full-time coordinator for those services; and

(3) one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to the economic development department to promote and advertise the telecommunications services available at New Mexico junior college and northern New Mexico state school.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
