AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES IN RURAL AND SEMIRURAL COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE STATE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred ten thousand dollars ($210,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of economic development initiatives in those rural and semirural areas throughout the state with the highest unemployment rates and the lowest per capita income levels. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
