AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A STATEWIDE DENTAL EDUCATION CAREER LADDER PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of establishing a statewide, coordinated dental education career ladder program among the various post-secondary educational institutions throughout New Mexico with the goal of preparing graduates to perform as dental administrative aides, dental assistants and dental hygienists. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
