Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 1, line 11, strike "THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION" and insert in lieu thereof "SAN JUAN COLLEGE".

2. On page 1, line 12, strike "A STATEWIDE".

3. On page 1, line 13, strike "PROGRAM" and insert in lieu thereof "PROGRAMS".

4. On page 1, line 18, strike "commission on higher education" and insert in lieu thereof "governing board of San Juan college".

5. On page 1, line 19, strike "statewide," and insert in lieu thereof "consortium of".

6. On page 1, line 20, strike "program" and insert in lieu thereof "programs".,

7. On page 1, between lines 23 and 24, insert:

"Emphasis shall be given to providing training in underserved areas of the state and to welfare-to-work clients and other nontraditional students.".,

and thence referred to the FINANCE COMMITTEE.
