AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES FOR MEDICAID-INELIGIBLE YOUTH.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of contracting for services and programs for medicaid-ineligible youth. These services shall include, but are not limited to, after-school programs, life skills building programs, mentoring, home-based services, behavior management programs, respite, parental support and education, independent living programs, substance abuse treatment and foster care independent living programs and group homes and shelters. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
