AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE ALLIANCE FOR MINORITY PARTICIPATION AND THE REGIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SCIENCE, MATHEMATICS, ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of increasing the base budget to expand the alliance for minority participation and the regional alliance for science, mathematics, engineering and technology for students with disabilities programs to improve student retention through mentoring, internships and assistantships. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
