AN ACT

RELATING TO SURVEYING; ALLOWING CLIENT CHOICE OF THE QUANTITY OF SURVEYING SERVICES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Engineering and Surveying Practice Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] LIMITED SURVEYS.--If a client requests a survey requiring a lesser quantity of service than indicated by the minimum standards for surveying issued by the board, a surveyor may perform the requested survey if:

A. the required record of survey notes what particular requirements in the minimum standards for surveying were not performed;

B. the quality of the survey is undiminished; and

C. any records or plats required to be filed pursuant to the minimum standards for surveying contain a statement by the client of what services the client has declined."
