AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE EXPANSION OF ADULT BASIC EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND SERVICES IN RURAL AREAS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to provide or contract for expansion of the adult basic education programs and services in rural areas of the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
