AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AN ENGINEERING STUDY AND PLAN FOR A REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER SYSTEM FOR THE CITY OF ALAMOGORDO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of environment for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for a pilot project using reverse osmosis water treatment technology in the city of Alamogordo. The state appropriation will be matched by federal and local contributions. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
