AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO EXPAND AND ENHANCE ECONOMIC SURVIVAL PROGRAMS OF THE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE SCIENCE CENTER IN ALCALDE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to expand and enhance economic survival programs of the sustainable agriculture science center in Alcalde. The money shall be distributed in the following amounts to the following programs:

(1) two hundred two thousand four hundred dollars ($202,400) for the cooperative extension service; and

(2) ninety-seven thousand six hundred dollars ($97,600) for the agricultural experiment station.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
