AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTERS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the following purposes at small business development centers:

(1) sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) for statewide professional development;

(2) fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to install and maintain a statewide management information system;

(3) ninety thousand dollars ($90,000) to establish a small business development center in Taos;

(4) one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to establish a small business development center in Rio Rancho;

(5) ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to support the North American free trade association institute at western New Mexico university;

(6) two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for equipment and business reference library upgrades; and

(7) forty thousand dollars ($40,000) for administrative costs of the lead center.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
