AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FACILITATE WATER RIGHTS NEGOTIATIONS BETWEEN THE NAVAJO NATION AND THE STATE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of facilitating water rights negotiations between the Navajo nation and the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
