AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A PILOT COUNSELING PROGRAM FOR CHILD VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of contracting for a pilot program in Alamogordo, Farmington, Gallup and Shiprock to provide counseling for child victims of domestic violence, including anger management, trauma counseling, trauma resolution and other interventions for children to ensure normal developmental progress. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
